classes we offer
“However ya want to stab ‘em, we can teach ya.”
Beginner Longsword
Beginner Longsword … It’s more then just, “stick em with the pointy end.” In this class, you will learn the core techniques from our German and Italian masters. Our longsword system is based on unarmored combat. We will teach how to strike and thrust your opponent without ever being hit.
This class is for longsword practitioners who want to move on the path toward sword mastery. This class is focused on the martial art of the sword, not the sport of fencing. We dive into advanced techniques and concepts that will push you to a higher physical and mental level. Full gear, belt, and dagger are required. Beginner Longsword class endorsement required.
Advanced Longsword
Quarter staff
A dive into one of history's most effective weapons and its use in spears, halberds, and billhooks. We'll look at multiple sources from multiple masters to wield this ancient and deadly weapon.
Long Axe
Chop, stab, bash, and smash … the Skeggox Long Axe is a demon on the battlefield! In this class, you will learn our interpretation of how the Scandinavian warriors used their 2-handed axes in solo and group combat. We’ll cover from the guard and footwork to the techniques and strategies. Find your inner berserker by wielding the Skeggox!
Singles mixer
This class is about single-handed weapons: Saber, rapier, messer, and other swords in rotation and combination. We will draw on a variety of sources including Meyer, Roworth, and Giganti.
Shield
Not just for defense, the shield should be an active part of any attack. Shields of all kinds have been used in combat throughout history, across numerous cultures, and have taken many shapes along the way. Our shield class teaches the application of universal shield theory, which may be applied from buckler to rotella, targe to skjoldr.
